[Closes 19 June 2017] SynBio SRI seeks Assistant Coordinator (Part Time, Fixed Term)

The Synthetic Biology Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) is based in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Cambridge. We are seeking a part-time (0.5FTE) Assistant Coordinator who will work closely with the SRI Coordinator, Dr Jenny Molloy, in the research group of Professor Jim Haseloff (SRI Chair).

The Synthetic Biology SRI provides a hub for researchers, students and external collaborators interested in the interface between biology and engineering through frequent events, training initiatives and an active online presence. The role-holder will provide communications, event management and administrative support to the Synthetic Biology SRI Coordinator, including responsibility for website updates, publicity and social media.

The successful candidate will have an A-Level in Biology, or equivalent; knowledge of web design and implementation; the ability to use social media as a PR tool in a professional setting; events management experience. You will have excellent communication skills and a pro-active and flexible approach.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2019 in the first instance.
