Engineering Biology in Cambridge

Biography

My link to Synthetic Biology is through the Colour Institute, which is a Cambridge-based forum in which people can share data and ideas about colour, both as a creative and a scientific idea. With Sophie Weeks and Praveen Teleti, and with support from Synthetic Biology, I am developing a low-cost colour-measuring instrument.

Research

I study the Earth's Polar Regions using satellite imagery, AUVs ('drones') and field-based measurements. I am especially interested in using the concept of colour to make precise deductions about the way plants and animals are distributed over the polar fringes of the Earth.
