Engineering Biology in Cambridge

Learn more about Cambridge Makespace's biology lab: Biomakespace. Space and resources available for individuals, entrepreneurs and start-ups.

Biomakespace is the Makespace biology lab: creating a corner of Cambridge where curiosity-driven science, lifelong learning and entrepreneurial spirit can thrive in an open community for engineering with biology, together. As a Makespace member, for £40 per month you’ll have access to 50 sqm molecular biology and cell culture labs and a mini-makespace at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. You’ll also benefit from 400 sqm of workshop space in the city centre for everything from woodwork to sewing, 3D printing to model milling. Best of all - the Biomakespace labs plan to co-locate with the Makespace workshops in the future to bring biology and technology under one roof (details TBC).

Come and see the spaces to find out more about becoming a member and joining a vibrant community of people from many backgrounds with a passion for engineering and biology. If you’d like to give something back, we are currently seeking members interested in teaching biotechnology to build up our lifelong learning programme.
