Postdoctoral Position in Evolutionary Synthetic Biology

Postdoctoral opening at the University of Lausanne to carry out interdisciplinary research at the interface between synthetic, systems and evolutionary biology.

The Schaerli lab in The Department of Fundamental Microbiology, University of Lausanne, Switzerland, seeks a highly motivated Post-doc to work on an interdisciplinary project to study how gene regulatory networks change extensively, while maintaining overall circuit output.

This will involve performing molecular evolution experiments with synthetic gene regulatory networks in E.coli. The postdoc will have the opportunity to lead research projects and work with motivated PhD and Master students. The qualified candidate will benefit from working in a very stimulating and international research environment in a young team with access to state of the art facilities and a competitive salary. At least 80% of the working time will be dedicated to personal research. The remaining of the working time may be dedicated to teaching (organisation and supervision of student practicals).
