The Royal Academy of Engineering invites applications for its research fellowships and engineering for development research fellowships. These support early-career researchers in becoming future research leaders in engineering. In addition, engineering for development research fellowships support projects that aim to positively impact or contribute to the sustainable economic or social development or welfare of a country or countries on the development assistance committee list.

Applications are open to early-career researchers worldwide whose PhD has been conditionally approved or who have been awarded their PhD in the last four years. There are no nationality restrictions, but posts must be held at UK HEIs in an engineering department and applicants must not hold a permanent academic position.

Fellowships are worth up to £500,000 each and are tenable for five years. The academy provides 80 per cent of the full economic costs of the research programme.

Apply via the University of Cambridge Research Strategy Officeresearchstrategy@admin.cam.ac.uk.
