Engineering Biology in Cambridge

i-Teams (www.iteamsonline.org) is currently selecting projects for our ASEAN i-Teams programme. This will run at ITB (Bandung, Indonesia) in February-March 2024, and also at HUST (Hanoi, Vietnam) and ITB (Bandung) later in 2024.

As an inventor on an i-Teams project you will work with a multi-disciplinary team of students based in either Bandung or Hanoi. They will be guided by an experienced industry mentor to conduct local market research about your technology, talking to relevant experts and companies to determine the best potential market opportunity for your invention.

This opportunity is ideal for any new technology which is applicable to South East Asian markets, to help you gain more insight into the opportunities and real-world market conditions there. The UK government is focused on building commercial and academic relationships with ASEAN countries, and has dedicated funding available for building these links. Engineering Biology is a specific focus technology area.

Past international projects have included Beneficial Bio, Waterscope & Blue Tap. Past Cambridge projects have included Colorifix, Cortirio, Kallium Health, aqdot and Fluidic Analytics.

ASEAN i-Teams is led by the Centre for Global Equality and is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

nb. For the Feb-Mar course the deadline for choosing project is  Monday (11 December), but there will be further opportunities for the course in Vietnam and Indonesia in June and October 2024.
