Engineering Biology in Cambridge

Represent Cambridge University at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition.

iGEM is an annual competition of high acclaim, with 350 participating teams from 45 countries last year. The competition involves teams of students trying to solve real-world problems using Synthetic Biology tools. Past projects range in scope from the development of therapeutic diagnostic tools to projects targeted at manufacturing and addressing environmental concerns. The competition involves computational and biological aspects and team members can come from a wide variety of backgrounds ranging from biologists to engineers to computer scientists.

Participating in iGEM is a unique opportunity to represent the university at an international competition, develop your own project in a team, develop wetlab and drylab experience, and can be a stepping stone to learn about and get involved with Biotechnology!

The Application form: https://bit.ly/igemcam_app24

Applications for iGEM are open and early applications will close on the 1st December!

The application form contains some questions and an assignment; and will be followed by a short informal meeting with a few instructors.
