Engineering Biology in Cambridge

Our researchers develop and use software and computing tools for biological research. This includes data and image processing, and 'omics’.

Bioinformatics and software are core tools for the discipline of Engineering Biology. Scaling up and automating experiments and data collection require improved data processing and analysis. Image analysis and processing of ‘omics’ data are key areas where computing and software can assist in biological research. AI and machine learning are also of growing interest to the Engineering Biology community.

Researchers at Cambridge are developing and using a wide range of software and computing tools in their biological research.
