Bio-inspired art and design is a highly dynamic area with practitioners increasingly using biology not just as inspiration, but as essential components in their design and construction. This includes the fields of bio-inspired robotics and biodesign. Engineering Biology also has applications in the creative industries, and creative art and design principles can feedback into research and innovation.
The EngBio IRC supports work at the intersection of biology, design, and art through events such as the Art & Science Soiree and SynBioSoc’s student-led iGEM team.
